Program Description

Cornerstone College offers a 3-month Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician (HPCT) Program. The program provides comprehensive clinical knowledge and skills that enable practitioners to provide hemodialysis to patients.

The program teaches students how to work with patients and how to use hemodialysis equipment properly. The program focuses on helping students learn to take vital signs, obtain vascular access, take blood samples and work comfortably with patients and their families.

Program Goal

The goal of this program is to provide each student with the knowledge base and clinical skills necessary to assure high-quality patient care to those who have Stage V kidney disease.

We offer both day and evening classes,(yes, and even weekends) which means more flexibility for you. Pick the class schedule that best suits your busy lifestyle.

Graduation and Certification

Upon successful completion of the HPCT program, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from Cornerstone College.

Graduates must obtain national certification within 18 months of being hired into and working in the hemodialysis patient care setting.


For the majority of the program, your learning schedule will include Monday through Friday with occasional weekends. Hours will vary with rotation.
