EKG Technicians perform electrocardiograms which monitor the patient’s heart and can help detect certain heart conditions. Using a combination of classroom and lab learning, this course will prepare students to sit for the EKG Technician Certification exam. Students will learn the basic Anatomy and Physiology terminology associated with the heart and circulatory systems, signs and symptoms of diseases, and the electrophysiology/conduction system of the heart. Students will learn the use and operation of the ECG equipment. Lab sessions will provide hands-on practice, as well as allow students to meet the requirement for performing EKGs on live individuals. Students must attend all classes and complete assignments, including all practical skills.
Textbook, materials, and board certification exam are additional costs.

•    Valid  government-issued ID

Applicants are expected to adhere to the professional standards for certification, including rules of conduct. Students successfully completing the course will earn a Certificate of Completion from the College, which can be used to establish eligibility to qualify to take a certification exam.
