Care Provider provides services according to the client’s ability to perform daily activities, and can include feeding, bathing, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, shopping, meal preparation and clean up, respiration, bowel & bladder care, moving in and out of bed, rubbing the skin (to prevent skin breakdown), accompaniment to medical appointments, paramedical services, and protective supervision.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts a 45 percent increase in demand for new care providers for home settings between 2000 and 2010 alone – the equivalent of approximately 800,000 new jobs.
Our program curriculum prepares students for this rewarding career. Our Caregiving Certificate Program will lead trainees through various caregiving levels. (supervisory care, personal care, directed care, and assisted living manager) and prepares them to work as care providers for older people in home settings.
